Shoes & Bags

I have always liked to have a pretty and neat place where to store my shoes.

I know, I am a bit fixated with cleanliness, but shoes are an item quite dirty if you think about the fact that you walk in them everyday and you walk everywhere with them!

First of all, I like to have a closet dedicated to shoes. I don't like to have the dirty soles in the same wardrobe of clothes... germs proliferate!

Second, I like to see which shoes I have at disposal, so that I can arrange the rest of the outfit accordingly.

This piece of furniture actually was born as a bookcase, but I have transformed it into a shoes and bags display cabinet.

In the morning, it seems that I am picking my shoes out from a shop! I simply love it!

You can obviously play with shoe types, colors, etc.. to make symmetries in the display of the items.

The bags in the middle interrupt the monotony of shoes, and give more color to the whole solution. Obviously, instead of bags you could put nice boxes, or jewellery hangers.

The bookcase is very thin, like 30 cm maximum, so it fit perfectly where there is not a lot of space to fit furniture, but you want to use the height.

Note: to avoid to damage the shelves, I have put some rubber sheets (always from Ikea!).
